Panels and meter enclosures for shopping plazas

In a shopping plaza each unit pays for its own power, and that starts at the meter enclosure. We assemble main panels, meter enclosures and cabinets for plazas and shopping centers on our electrical assembly line.

One meter per unit, in order

A meter enclosure groups the meters of all the units in a metal cabinet with reading windows. Done well, it lets the utility read without opening anything, lets the manager know which meter belongs to whom and lets a new unit be connected without taking the others apart.

We make it to fit the number of units and the space available, with the sheet laser-cut and bent in our plant, painted and fitted with its QR-code plate.

Common areas and anchor units

Besides the meters, a plaza has common areas with their own consumption: car-park lighting, signs, pumps, corridor air conditioning and lifts. We assemble the panels for those areas and, if you wish, connect them to measure consumption, voltage and temperature and send alerts to your phone.

For the developer, that means knowing what the common areas really cost to run, a useful figure when setting the service charge.

Structure, façade and electrics together

The plaza’s structure, the pierced-metal façade, the totems and signs, and the panels all come out of the same plant. Coordinating them through one supplier avoids a sign arriving with no circuit, or a panel with nowhere to be mounted.

After the opening

Plazas change tenants, and every change touches the electrics. The Energy Plan checks the panels with a thermal camera, tightens connections, cleans and tests the transfer switch with the generator. The Complete Plan adds remote monitoring, priority service when something fails and a visit calendar with automatic reminders.

What we need to quote

To prepare the quote it helps to have the plaza drawing with the location of the electrical room, the number of units and their approximate load, and the load list for the common areas. If the plaza is already open, a few photos of the current panels are enough to start. We send a clear price, with what it includes and the delivery time, split into meter enclosures, common-area panels and monitoring.

Frequently asked questions

How many meters can an enclosure hold?

We make it to fit the number of units and the space available.

Can you measure common-area consumption?

Yes. We connect the panels to measure consumption, voltage and temperature, with alerts to your phone.

Do you also make the plaza’s signs?

Yes. Totems and signs are laser-cut on our architecture line, and their panels come from our electrical line.
