Aluzinc roofs in Samaná and Las Terrenas
The Samaná peninsula is green because it rains a lot, and it is surrounded by sea. For the villas, cabins and small hotels of Samaná, Las Terrenas and Las Galeras, a roof has to take more water and more humidity than almost anywhere else in the country.
A roof for a lot of rain
On the peninsula, downpours are frequent and long. That calls for roofs with a good pitch, whole sheets from ridge to eaves, generous eaves over terraces and windows, and well-made roof-to-wall joints. We make every aluzinc sheet at the exact length of its slope to avoid needless overlaps, which is where leaks usually start.
Steel-frame cabins and houses
Many buildings in the area are one- or two-storey cabins and houses on sloping plots with sea views. Among our ideas are A-frame cabins raised on steel columns, mountain cabins with a terrace and steel-frame houses with pitched roofs. We fabricate the frame in our plant and the tile-profile or plain aluzinc roof that covers it.
The house’s finishes (timber, glass, stone) are set according to the scope of your project.
Getting to the peninsula
Our plant is at the other end of the country, on Av. Barceló in Bávaro. So for Samaná everything is fabricated complete, cut to length and numbered, and the trip is planned once with all the material for the job. Before fabricating we visit your plot to measure and check access, which on some of the peninsula’s hills does not take large trucks.
Humidity and salt air
The combination of constant humidity and sea breeze speeds up corrosion. The steel frame is painted in the plant, and the Coast Plan checks rust, paint, anchors and bolts, with a report and photos for owners who live abroad.
To get a quote, send us the location, photos of the plot or the house and an idea of the roof. We send a clear price, with what it includes and the delivery time.
Small hotels and eco-lodges
The peninsula has many small hotels and lodgings surrounded by vegetation, where the roof is seen from terraces and paths. There colour matters as much as durability: greens, browns and wood tones help the roof blend into the landscape.
