Plain or tile-profile aluzinc: how to choose your roof

Aluzinc is a metal roofing sheet we make for houses, villas, industrial buildings and shops. It comes in two profiles, plain and tile, and in several colours. This guide explains what changes between them and what to ask before you decide.

What each profile is

The difference is the shape of the sheet. The plain profile is the usual corrugated sheet, the one you see on industrial buildings, warehouses and most metal roofs. The tile profile looks like a tiled roof: from a distance it reads as a traditional roof, but it is a metal sheet installed in the same way.

When each one fits

On an industrial building, a warehouse or a workshop, where function rules, the plain profile is the norm. On a house, a villa, a rancho or a shop that wants a warmer look, the tile profile gives the effect of a tiled roof without its weight. On mixed projects, such as a hotel with service areas, it is common to use tile where guests look and plain where they do not.

The colour

We make aluzinc in several colours. The photo of our chart shows white, blue, green, yellow, wood, red, terracotta, brown and black. When choosing, think of the whole: the roof colour is seen from afar, in aerial photos of a development and in a villa’s sales photos. If your community has design rules, check them first.

Why made to measure

We make every sheet at exactly the length of your roof. A sheet that covers the whole slope avoids intermediate overlaps, which is where water usually gets in, and also avoids cutting and waste on site. To do that we take measurements on site with digital equipment before fabrication.

By the sea

On the coast, salt air attacks the bolts and the cut edges. A roof that is well installed and checked lasts much longer. The Coast Plan checks rust and salt corrosion, re-tightens the bolts and checks the structure’s welds, and delivers a photo report. Every roof carries its QR-code plate with its history.
