Steel structures in Punta Cana: from idea to erection

Industrial buildings, curved roofs, mezzanines and spiral staircases: how we design, fabricate and erect steel structures from our plant in Bávaro.

Curved metal roof over a basketball court

A steel structure starts long before it reaches the site. It starts as a drawing, a photo or a hand sketch, and goes through the 3D model, cutting, welding and painting before the crane lifts the first column. This article explains how we work on our steel structures line.

What we build

  • Industrial buildings: columns, beams and purlins fabricated and erected by us.
  • Curved roofs, such as the one over a basketball court or the stage of an amphitheater.
  • Second storeys and mezzanines.
  • Spiral staircases.
  • Bases for giant screens.
  • Plain and tile-profile aluzinc roofs, made to measure and in several colors.

Engineering before cutting

Every project goes through digital engineering: a 3D model before fabrication, a structural review by our multidisciplinary engineering team, and site measurements taken with digital equipment. You see the model and approve it before we cut a single piece. Then we send you a clear price, with what it includes and the delivery time.

From the shop to the site

Everything is fabricated at our plant in Bávaro. We drill plates and beams with our laser machine, our welders join plates and stiffeners, and we assemble each column with its base plate. Every stage is recorded with photos. On site, our own crew lifts columns and frames with a crane until the building takes shape.

Projects already standing

Some of the work you can see in our projects:

  • Curved roof of the amphitheater at Larimar City: a curved roof for the stage, and railings for the stairs of four towers.
  • Caletón 68 spiral staircase, a boutique hotel in Cap Cana: a spiral staircase with a central column, wooden treads and a stainless-steel railing.
  • Roofs of Villa Caletón 55, in Cap Cana: metal roofs built by zones, delivered in stages.
  • Marlin Shopping reinforcement, in Verón: structural reinforcement in a store that stayed open, without stopping its operation.
  • Receiving hopper for Grupo Concremax: a hopper loaded with a front loader, discharging onto the conveyor belt.

A structure near the sea needs looking after

On the coast, salt air works on steel every day. Every structure leaves the plant with a QR code plate: scanning it shows the date of manufacture, the inspections, the warranty and the maintenance history. For structures and façades we offer the Plan Costa, one of our maintenance plans: a check for rust and salt-air corrosion, touch-up of paint and anchors, tightening of bolts and welds, and a report with photos.

Frequently asked questions

What steel structures do you build?

Industrial buildings, curved roofs, second storeys, spiral staircases, mezzanines, bases for giant screens, and plain and tile-profile aluzinc roofs.

Can I see the structure before it is fabricated?

Yes. We design it in 3D and you see the model before we fabricate; our engineering team reviews it.

How do you look after a structure near the sea?

With the Plan Costa: a check for rust and salt-air corrosion, touch-up of paint and anchors, tightening of bolts and welds, and a report with photos.
