Metal footbridge with a railing and a wooden deck over a canal in a residential complex
For your industry

Footbridges for hotels and residential developments

In many coastal resorts and residential developments the landscape is built with water: canals, lakes, pools that separate areas. A steel footbridge joins the two banks and becomes part of the walk. We fabricate it in our plant and erect it on site.

Where they are used

Typical projects are hotels and resorts that link room blocks with the beach or the restaurant, residential developments with canals or artificial lakes, parks and gardens, and raised links between two buildings of the same project.

In each case the bridge has to be comfortable to walk with suitcases or pushchairs, safe for children and pleasant to look at from a distance.

Railing, deck and design

The railing can be steel or stainless steel, and the deck timber, depending on the scope of your project. If the architect wants a bridge with character, we add laser-cut pierced panels with tropical designs or a design of your own, and paint the structure in the colour you choose.

Our engineering team sets the design load for the use: a guest walkway is not the same as a bridge used by service carts.

Fabrication and erection

We measure the crossing on site with digital equipment, draw the bridge in 3D and fabricate it complete in the plant: laser cutting, welding and painting. On site we erect it on its supports with our own crew.

A bridge over water and next to the sea lives in the harshest setting for steel. The Coast Plan checks rust, salt-air corrosion, paint, anchors, bolts and welds, with a report and photos.

Planned together with the landscape architect

In a resort the bridge is as much a part of the landscape as the palms or the water. So it pays to agree with the landscape architect on the height above the water, lighting in the deck or the railing, and the colour, which in many projects matches the timber of the decks or the tone of the roofs. If the bridge has lighting, the panel is assembled on our electrical assembly line. With photos of the site, the width of the crossing and the design idea we send you a 3D model and a clear quote.

Frequently asked questions

What load can a footbridge carry?

Our engineering team sets it for your use; tell us if service carts will cross or only people.

Can it have a timber deck?

Yes. A timber deck is set according to the scope of your project.

How long can it be?

We make it to fit the crossing, which we measure on site.
