Laser cutting to order: materials, files and how to start
Laser cutting turns a drawing into a precise metal piece: a sign, a cut-pattern panel, a machine part, a gate. This guide explains which materials we cut, which file to send and what happens if you only have a photo or an idea.
The materials
We cut carbon steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel and aluminium, in sheet and in tube. Carbon steel is the most versatile and is painted in the colour you choose; galvanized and stainless steel stand up better to the weather and salt air; aluminium is light. The material and thickness of your piece are set to suit your project.
The ideal file
If you have the design in a drawing program, a DXF or DWG file is the most direct: it holds the exact lines the laser will follow. We also accept PDF, JPG and PNG. Through the form you can attach up to 10 files of 25 MB each.
If you only have an idea
A technical file is not needed. A hand sketch, a photo of something you like or a logo is enough to start. We turn it into a cut-ready drawing and shows you the result in 3D before fabrication. If you have no design, you can pick one from our collection, such as tropical designs with palms, leaves and flowers, or circles.
From cut to finished piece
Cutting is only one stage. In our plant the piece can then go through bending, welding, painting and, if it has lighting, electrical assembly. That is why a lit cut-pattern sign or a framed panel leaves complete, ready to install, and not as a cut sheet that has to be finished in another shop.
What to tell us
To quote, it helps to know the size, the quantity, where the piece will go (indoors, outdoors, by the sea), the finish and whether it needs installation. With that we send a clear price, with what it includes and the delivery time.
Examples we have made
The metal façade of the Hotel Hilton in Punta Cana and the cut-pattern covers for air conditioners on a residential building, cut and painted in several colours, are two laser-cutting projects you can see in our projects section.
